CODE ON WAGES 2019:
The Code on Wages, 2019 has become an Act since it has received the assent of the President. The Code is a replacement of four central enactments, viz., Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Payment of Wages Act and Equal Remuneration Act. While the framework of the earlier Acts has not been disturbed, it has made some significant changes, some of which, are welcome and others which are not warranted from the point of view of employer. A detailed discussion on the provisions of the Code on Wages will be presented in due course when a thorough study is made on the provisions of Code on Wages vis-à-vis replaced earlier Acts.
